چکیده

In reliability and lifetime testing, comparison of two groups of data is a common problem. In some lifetime experiments, making a quick and efficient decision is desirable in order to save time and costs. To this end, a progressive censoring scheme can be useful, with censoring occurring at different stages [2]. This paper presents a nonparametric predictive inference (NPI) approach to compare two groups, say X and Y , when one (or both) is (are) progressively censored. NPI can easily be applied to different types of progressive censoring schemes. NPI is a statistical method based on Hill’s assumption A(n) [1], with inferences strongly based on data and with uncertainty quantified via lower and upper probabilities. These inferences consider the event that the lifetime of a future unit from Y is greater than the lifetime of a future unit from X.

Bayesian Two-Sample Prediction with Progressively Type-II Censored Data for Some Lifetime Models

Prediction on the basis of censored data is very important topic in many fields including medical and engineering sciences. In this paper, based on progressive Type-II right censoring scheme, we will discuss Bayesian two-sample prediction. A general form for lifetime model including some well known and useful models such asWeibull and Pareto is considered for obtaining prediction bounds ...

Nonparametric Predictive Comparison of Two Groups of Lifetime Data

We present the application of a recently introduced nonparametric predictive inferential method to compare two groups of data, consisting of observed event times and right-censoring times. Comparison is based on imprecise probabilities concerning one future observation per group.

Nonparametric Predictive Multiple Comparisons of Lifetime Data

We consider lifetime experiments to compare units from different groups, where the units’ lifetimes may be right-censored. Nonparametric predictive inference for comparison of multiple groups is presented, in particular lower and upper probabilities for the event that a specific group will provide the largest next lifetime. We include the practically relevant consideration that the overall life...

Nonparametric Predictive Multiple Comparisons with Censored Data and Competing Risks

This paper provides an overview of nonparametric predictive inference for comparison of multiple groups of data including right-censored observations. Different right-censoring schemes discussed are early termination of an experiment, progressive censoring and competing risks. Theoretical results are briefly stated, detailed justifications are presented elsewhere. The methods are illustrated an...

Inference for the Proportional Hazards Family under Progressive Type-II Censoring

In this paper, the well-known proportional hazards model which includes several well-known lifetime distributions such as exponential,Pareto, Lomax, Burr type XII, and so on is considered. With both Bayesian and non-Bayesian approaches , we consider the estimation of parameters of interest based on progressively Type-II right censored samples. The Bayes estimates are obtained based on symmetric...
